About the Program

For over 70 years Southwest Regional Credit Union has offered a wide variety of products and services to assist members with their financial needs, while at the same time, re-investing in the communities that helped it grow. Partnering with Sarnia-Lambton Rebound and Chatham Kent Community Health Centres will make it possible to provide a vital program to the youth of Wallaceburg.

Sarnia-Lambton Rebound has been delivering life and social skill programs to youth since 1984. Rebound is a nationally awarded, nationally accredited and provincially replicated prevention and early intervention agency dedicated to supporting youth achieve their full potential.

Recently at Sarnia-Lambton Rebound we have noticed an increase in the number of youth who are facing normative developmental challenges yet appear to lack the tools, skills, resources, support required to overcome an adverse situation, persevere and move along on their journey. Today’s youth face increased pressures in the form of peer relationships, academic expectations, poverty, social media and cybercrimes, dating and family dynamics.

THRIVE is a resiliency based, strengths focused program utilizing staff and volunteers who will deliver a 10 week program to 12-14 year olds in Wallaceburg. Youth at this developmental stage are at the transitional period of entering high school and facing new challenges. The goals of THRIVE are to strengthen their resiliency capacity by improving their ability to face challenges and adversity with courage and control.
